Harrison White – A Great Drummer
NAME: Harrison White
AGE: 20 LOCATION: Gold Coast Australia Nursing Student and drummer I came to the work of Universal Medicine at the age of 17 through a friend Luke. I went to school with Luke and we had been best buddies since grade 8. He used to share some things with me from time to time about what he did when attending Universal Medicine events and at the time I wasn’t too fussed on going myself, but was definitely interested, I wanted to know what it was all about.
Luke presented to me a friend like no other. He was someone I could truly trust and call an amazing friend in high school where everything else didn’t feel like it truly supported me. I was amazed to have a friend that would tell me he is starting to go to bed earlier, eat healthier and have more energy. It was noticeable.
I was inspired every day by the amazing person that he brought to school, he was amazingly steady and didn’t seem to get caught up in the dynamics of high school as much as I did, and deep inside I knew I was capable of the same steadiness.
When I was 17 I decided to attend a weekend event hosted by Universal Medicine, The Livingness 1. I was blown away by the care I felt from Serge Benhayon, and the simple, practical wisdom that I was hearing.
This guy was not putting on a show, he was speaking truth.
His energy was not imposing and was beautiful to listen to.
Somehow within me I already knew everything he was talking about.
I started going to bed earlier (when I actually felt tired) and eating healthier, as well as expressing myself in full and not holding back. I was so happy to have my own natural rhythm back, one that I had been missing since the age of about 14 and 15 when things at high school and life generally began to change and became far more hectic and challenging.
One thing that I have been accused of by attending Universal medicine events and courses is that I am ‘brainwashed’ or ‘in a cult’ and I have been called this in person, which is far from the truth. I am not ‘brain washed’, I was inspired by a friend and community which I could see had stability in the way they lived and were very healthy, in their bodies and in their minds.
Teenagers give up so much more when they decide to conform and fit in, they give up their true selves and this is something I knew was happening but could never fully communicate, until now when I have committed to loving and caring for myself more deeply.
One thing that I have always been passionate about is playing music and I have always had a strong connection with the drums. At around the same time I started to attend Universal Medicine events I decided I needed to have a break from playing the drums. I was very successful with my music and was taking it to University and professional levels. I eventually came to the awareness that I was exhausted, so I decided to have a break.

Thanks to Serge and Michael Benhayon, I have been supported to bring out my great love of drumming once again and play from my heart, which I had always wanted to do, but studying at University does not encourage. It encourages instead a more mental approach which I could never gel with. It took me up to two years to let out this great love of mine once again but I am so thankful that I have been given the opportunities and received the support from Michael Benhayon, Serge Benhayon and Chris James. It was Serge in fact who would ask me when I was going to play the drums again as he could see I had a lot of joy and expression in me that would be awesome to get out and share with the world.
My body is the biggest difference in how I play now, there is not an ounce of tension in it at all! This is the best way to play for sure!
I am very happy with all of the choices that I have made since I was 17, and am now feeling very open and genuinely happy about the future ahead, whereas before in high school I wasn’t sure where I was going and felt crushed because I knew that all society wanted me to do was fit in, but I wanted to be the amazing me. Universal Medicine has shown me I can still be the amazing me and do everything I need to do in life.
The ‘Student Body’ of Universal Medicine have been nothing but welcoming and supportive of me and amazed at the choices I have made that buck the trends that people my age are following. In truth I felt no exclusivity of this group and it was not a new ‘club’ that I joined. It is a group of students who are dedicated to making their life true and lead the way in all of their respective communities on how to live a truly healthy, harmonious and joy-full life. I have seen nothing like it in all of my life.
Thank you Universal Medicine, the Benhayons, Chris & Jenny James and many others who have supported me in the changes I wished to make. What needs to be said is that I have made every choice myself and was always supported if I asked for help. I have never been told to do anything, attend any workshops or make any changes in my life.
